Programs offered at the Learning Center: |

school programming (234 days/year) •Day/residential (24 hour) programming (365 days/year), and •Residential-only programming (365 days/year). |

While the majority of students are enrolled in both the day and residential programs, a small number are enrolled either as day-only students or as residential-only students. |

| Located at 411 Waverley Oaks Road in Waltham, MA, the school consists of classrooms and workshops in which students are taught a variety of subjects including: functional academics, budgeting, social studies, science, personal growth and development and computer and vocational skills. Depending on student skill level, vocational training ranges from the development of pre-vocational skills and sub-contract work to supported work sites.(to top) |

| The residential program currently consists of seven (7) community-based residences located in the suburban neighborhoods of Waltham, Watertown, and Belmont. Staff work with the students to promote a family atmosphere and to utilize community resources ranging from grocery to video stores, from museums to churches, from libraries to theaters. All students participate in household chores and receive formal training through skill acquisition programs in the areas including cooking, showering, laundry and self-preservation skills. Also, students receive in-house communication training and participate in leisure/ recreational group activities both in the residences and in the community.(to top) |

In 1992, a new residential program model was developed to meet the needs of a growing number of students who could no longer live at home successfully. Our residential-only program offers students the opportunity to acquire needed residential skills while attending (or remaining in) a public school program.(to top) |
